Concorso d'Eleganza Varignana 1705
3rd Edition
Amid the rolling Bolognese hills, at the very heart of the Motor Valley, Palazzo di Varignana hosted the third edition of the Concorso d’Eleganza Varignana 1705: an extraordinary weekend that brought together classic automobiles, culture, and the Italian lifestyle.
Thirty-seven rare and fascinating vehicles took part in an event that, in just three years, has established itself among the most exclusive concours in Europe, attracting collectors, enthusiasts, and an international jury of experts.
Best of Show
The most coveted award went to the Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS Berlinetta Pinin Farina (1950), presented by Corrado Lopresto. A one-off masterpiece, considered the first car in history to feature twin front headlights, it stands as a symbol of revolutionary design that influenced generations.
The Allure of Legends
The crowd’s enthusiasm was ignited by the Ferrari 121 LM (1955) of Elad Shraga, which received both the People’s Choice Award and the Special Award from Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari of Imola. This extremely rare racing car—only four examples ever built—wrote unforgettable chapters in endurance racing with drivers such as Shelby, Hill, and Miles.
Each category of the concours told a unique chapter in automotive history:
- Supercar Class: Lamborghini Miura P400 (1968) – Nicola Sacchetti
- Vintage Elegance: Bugatti Type 49 (1931) – Silvia Nicolis
- Post-War Power: Fiat 8V (1950) – Daniele Ferrua (also ASI Award)
- Italian Refinement: Lancia Aurelia B20 IV Series (1955) – Gianluca Garagnani
- Jewels of Maranello: Ferrari 330 GTC Speciale (1967) – Brandon Wang (also Motor Valley Trophy)
- Aerodynes: Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS Berlinetta Pinin Farina (1950) – Corrado Lopresto
- In Uniform: Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Targa (1989) – Lorenzo Matteucci
A Weekend of Italian Excellence
A highlight of 2025, the Classic Car Talks opened a dialogue between history, technology, and the future of classic automobiles, with contributions from motorsport professionals, academics, and financial experts. This forum enriched the concours experience, making it not only a celebration of beauty but also a place of reflection and culture.
Framed by the refined hospitality of Palazzo di Varignana—a resort set within 30 hectares of landscapes, with five restaurants and a wellness spa—the Concorso d’Eleganza Varignana 1705 has become one of the most anticipated events on the international calendar, supported by prestigious partners and institutions.
